Jesuita del sg XVII fue un hombre muy notable, buen organizador, poeta e investigador. Todas esas cualidades las puso al servicio de su misión de evangelizar la costa del Brasil. Se inculturó profundamente en la mentalidad indígena, para ello aprendió varias lenguas y fundó la ciudad de Sao Paulo. Hoy en el centro de esta enorme metrópoli se encuentra su estatua en el mismo lugar donde construyó una capilla y una escuela alrededor de las cuales fue creciendo la ciudad.

A Jesuit of the seventeenth century. He was a very remarkable man, a good organizer, poet and researcher. He put all these qualities at the service of his mission to evangelize the coast of Brazil. He became deeply inculturated in the indigenous mentality, for which he learned several languages and founded the city of Sao Paulo. Today in the center of this enormous metropolis stands his statue in the same place where he built a chapel and a school, around which the city grew.
